Sports and Water Sport Tourism Department
Aim:
Encourage the development of competitive and sustainable tourism-sports vacation products to broaden and diversify Mexico’s offer of services, to contribute to increasing numbers of tourists visiting the country.
Description:
The Ministry of Tourism is responsible for promoting the development of Mexico’s tourism industry, making it a world-leading country for tourism by diversifying its markets, products and destinations.
Therefore the Sports and Water Sports Tourism Department is coordinating work, programs and activities with Institutions, Governments and Sports Promoters to develop specific tourism products.
Activities:
Promote competitiveness and consolidate alternative
tourism destinations, increasing the sports offer and creating new products.
Support coordination between National Sports
Commission (CONADE) and Mexico’s Tourism Promotion Council (CPTM) in developing
the Sports Tourism segment.
Position Mexico as a sports destination in national
and international markets.
Combine efforts between public, private and community
organizations to maximize the impact of sports tourism events.
